Connect
In order to connect to Hogwarts MOO, one must have a client program (such as telnet, a very basic connection program that comes with Windows, or one of the client programs listed below). If you cannot download any of these programs, you can try this Java applet [under construction] which will run using the Java interpreter in your web browser.
Telnet can be used to connect directly into Hogwarts as well, but at the expense of seeing colors and having decent scrolling capabilities. Hogwarts runs at hostname `hogwartsmoo.net' (216.136.9.8) port number 7500. If you use a client to connect to Hogwarts, you must enter both the host name (sometimes called the `address'), and the port number.
